Behavioral Targeting

Advertisers on the AdTorque Network have always had a wide range of advertising campaign targeting options available to them such as geo-targeting and time targeting, but behavioral targeting goes one step further. Using Adify’s behavioral targeting platform, AdTorque can now ensure you reach your target audience with greater accuracy providing a high return on investment for your advertising campaign.
By leveraging actual online user behavior, we allow advertisers to deliver specifically targeted ads to consumers through our network of publishers. Because the advertisement which is served to the consumer is based upon relevancy, it can be on a page that’s not directly related to the product being advertised, thus expanding the opportunity to communicate with potential consumers.
An example of behavioral targeting would be if a consumer repeatedly visited a web page with reviews of kitchen blenders, then visited a kitchen blender company website. This clearly indicates an interest in buying a kitchen blender. By targeting advertising about this exact product or range of products significantly increases the consumer’s chance of purchasing.
So what behaviors (or actions) are available to be targeted?
The simple answer is the behaviours are endless, AdTorque can basically track any behavior or action required, however generally speaking the most commonly requested behaviors include;
- Visiting a particular site (advertisers site)
- Shopping cart abandonment (not buying after adding to cart)
- Visiting sites of similar interests (accessories, parts, blogs, competitive brands, classifieds )
- Visiting sites within a vertical (ie cars, bikes, trucks)
When combined with some of our existing campaign targeting options, behavioural targeting allows you to reach your target consumer, cost effectively compared to other advertising mediums.
So how could we do Behavioral Targeting?
User Case 1 – Ecommerce Site & Retargeting
You run a Premium Online Automotive store selling foods and wine. Using Behavioral Targeting, AdTorque could target users who put items such as an accessory product in to their shopping cart, but did not check out. When they are on a publisher within the AdTorque network, we would run specific advertising around the product they didn’t buy, bringing them back to your online store to complete the purchase.
User Case 2 – Content Site, Newsletter Retargeting
You run a automotive brand website and using Behavioral Targeting, AdTorque could target users who have previously visited your website but didn’t subscribe to your newsletter. When they are on a publisher within the AdTorque network, we would run specific advertising which would promote them to signup to your newsletter.
